Brewery Facts
- Yard’s was founded in 1994 in a garage in Philadelphia’s Manayunk neighborhood and produced less than 700 barrels of beer
- Founder and president Tom Kehoe graduated from McDaniel College in Westminster in 1988; while at school, he honed his skills as a homebrewer in his dorm room perfecting recipes he’d later use at Yards
- Kehoe also had an internship at British Brewing Company in Linthicum, MD; British Brewing, which later became Oxford Brewing Company, was the first micro-brewery in Maryland since the repeal of Prohibition.
- In 2017, Yards opened a new brewery with a capacity of 200,000 barrels per year; their beer is still sold in just a five-state footprint in the mid-Atlantic.
- For much of their time at Bond, Yards volume was over 12,000 CE; driven primarily by the unique offerings in the Ales of the Revolution series.
